Clean Beauty with Saint Cosmetics

Clean Beauty with Saint Cosmetics

Although I haven’t completely switched over to clean beauty products, I’m slowly incorporating more into my makeup collection as I think more about my overall health. It makes it much easier when clean beauty boutiques like Ivy Wild in Washington, DC exist and you can find all your clean beauty needs in one central place with knowledgeable salespeople. For the one-year anniversary of Ivy Wild, my favorite clean beauty boutique, I attended their birthday event which included color matching and makeup applications using Saint Cosmetics products.

Saint Cosmetics is a Canadian, non-toxic makeup brand that has some of the best ingredients on the market. Ingredients in Saint products are plant-based and the makeup doubles as skincare. Ingredients not used include Parabens, Petrochemicals, Nanoparticles, Sulfates, Silicone, Polyethylene Glycols (PEGs), Phthalates, Mineral Oil, Triclosan, Petrolatum, Coal Tar, Artificial Preservatives, Carmine, Unsustainably Sourced Ingredients and Synthetic Fragrance.

It’s not only good for your skin, it also works. My favorites are the Flawless Radiance Skincare Foundation ($54) and now the Skin Perfecting On-The-Go Concealer ($32), which I tried for the first time at Ivy Wild’s birthday event. The foundation has buildable coverage and really does give the skin a natural glow. The concealer has a smooth, creamy texture and covers dark circles without getting dry or cakey. I have especially dark circles, but a trick the makeup artist used was to let the concealer sit on my skin for a little bit before blending it in—it covered my dark circles completely. It’s also worth checking out their eyeliners (I use a bronze shade called Heaven on Earth most days), lipsticks, and powders like bronzer and blush.

In gradually switching to clean beauty products, one of the biggest challenges I’ve encountered is a lack of foundations with enough coverage. When I tried Saint’s foundation, that was the first time I was completely happy with a clean beauty foundation. The same goes for concealer—I wanted a liquid concealer in a tube that also had enough coverage and most I’d seen were cream concealers in a pot that just didn’t do the job as well as some popular mainstream concealers. Saint is the first clean beauty brand to fix both of those problems for me.

As always, I left Ivy Wild with a decent number of new products and much of that was thanks to Saint Cosmetics.
